Reliance’s 1 GW AI Hub : Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), led by Mukesh Ambani, announced a 1-gigawatt (GW) AI data center in Andhra Pradesh on November 14, 2025, at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. This mirrors its Jamnagar, Gujarat facility, creating a pan-India AI network. Paired with a 6 GWp solar project, it addresses AI’s energy demands sustainably, amid global chip shortages and hyperscaler demand from Google and Microsoft.

Key Details of the Reliance’s 1 GW AI Hub
- Project Scope: Reliance will establish a 1-Gigawatt (GW) AI-ready data centre campus in Andhra Pradesh.
- Technology Focus: The facility will be fully modular and future-ready, designed to host the world’s most advanced processors, including GPUs (Graphics Processing Units), TPUs (Tensor Processing Units), and AI processors.
- National Network: This new AI data centre will operate as a twin to Reliance’s gigawatt-scale AI data centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat, creating one of Asia’s strongest AI infrastructure networks.
- Objective: RIL’s mission is to democratise access to artificial intelligence, providing pro-level AI tools to students, farmers, entrepreneurs, and families through its MyJio platform.
Reliance’s Major Investments in Andhra Pradesh (AP)
| Project | Location / Primary Focus | Key Metric / Capacity | Purpose / Description |
| AI Data Centre Hub | Andhra Pradesh (State-wide) | 1 Gigawatt (GW) Compute Capacity | To build one of Asia’s strongest AI networks, hosting advanced processors (GPUs/TPUs). Aims to democratize access to AI tools. |
| Dedicated Solar Power Project | Andhra Pradesh (State-wide) | 6 GWp (Gigawatt-peak) | Dedicated power source for the data centre and adjacent industrial operations; will significantly boost AP’s renewable energy capacity. |
| Greenfield Integrated Food Park | Kurnool (Rayalaseema Region) | 170 Acres of land; Estimated ₹768 crore investment | World-class, automated facility for manufacturing FMCG products like beverages, snacks, and packaged food items. |
| Compressed Biogas (CBG) Hubs | Across the state | Integrated Hubs | To support natural farming, improve soil health, and promote clean energy infrastructure in the region. |
Sustainable Power & Green Initiatives
- Dedicated Solar Project: To sustainably power the massive compute load, Reliance will develop a 6 GWp (Gigawatt peak) solar power project in the state, dedicated to the AI data centre and adjacent industrial operations.
- Environmental Impact: This 6 GWp solar project is expected to double Andhra Pradesh’s current ground-mounted solar capacity and contribute over 30% of the state’s renewable energy.
- Compressed Biogas (CBG): RIL will also set up integrated compressed biogas (CBG) hubs to support natural farming and improve soil health in the region.
Additional Investments
The MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government also includes plans for another significant industrial project:
- Integrated Food Park: Reliance will build a greenfield integrated food park on 170 acres in Kurnool. This world-class automated facility will manufacture products like beverages, packaged drinking water, chocolates, snacks, and atta (flour).
State Context
- AI Hub Vision: This project is part of Andhra Pradesh’s aggressive strategy to position itself as a major AI and data centre hub in India. The state is aiming for a total data centre capacity of 6 GW.
- Other Major Investments: Reliance’s commitment follows a similar major investment by Google, which announced a $15 billion investment for a 1 GW AI data centre cluster in Vizag in partnership with the Adani Group.
