Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi, India’s busiest hub, has made history by becoming the country’s first mega-airport to achieve “Water-Positive” status.

This means that the airport, which handles over 40 million passengers annually, is now replenishing more water into the environment than it consumes
>Utilizes 625 rainwater harvesting structures.
>Two large underground reservoirs capable of storing 9 million litres of water.
>A 16.6 MLD (Million Litres per Day) zero-liquid-discharge plant ensures every drop of water is captured, recycled, and reused for all purposes, including cooling systems, landscaping, toilet flushing, and even the potable supply.
This achievement proves that even big infrastructure projects can be a powerful force for nature and sustainability.
