The victim, also a Class 11 student at Yaduvanshi School near the campus, suffered a serious gunshot wound to the neck and is currently undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital. All three students attend the same school.
What happened?
- Setup of attack: On Saturday evening, one of the accused (the shooter) invited the victim to meet up. Despite his mother’s refusal for him to go out, the victim left home, assuring her he’d return soon. The two had food and drinks en route, then picked up the second accused before heading to the rented flat owned by the shooter’s father, a property dealer from Patli village.
- Attack Time: Around 9:30 PM, an argument escalated inside the flat, leading the shooter to fire a single shot from his father’s licensed pistol. The bullet lodged in the victim’s neck. The victim was rushed to the hospital by his family before police arrived.
- Police Response: Sadar Police Station received a call via the control room and reached the scene promptly. They secured the area, with forensic teams (Scene of Crime and FSL) conducting inspections. An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for attempt to murder and Arms Act violations. The two minors were apprehended within hours on November 9 and placed in police custody for interrogation.
